The episode is entitled Two Cathedrals. President Bartlet has just returned from the funeral of his secretary, Mrs. Landingham, a lifelong friend. It has been revealed that he has Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and is going to a press conference to discuss the investigation of a possible cover-up. The press wants to know if he is going to seek re-election. The sequence has little dialogue and is intercut beautifully to Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits. We cut before the question at the end is answered… but we know what the answer will be.
A man is in a storm, he pauses and decides to fight against adversity.
