The great cinematographer is tied to actress Sandy Dennis on the set of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf; this rope “leash” is a good way to keep a constant distance between an actor and the camera. Of course this is also an amazing image of the bond between the actor & cinematographer: dance & dependency.

The 12-minute excerpt below shows a succession of brief interchanges by the protesters about non-violence, group decisions and other political talk. In Washington, Wexler films some engaging protest chants.

At 91 the legendary DP is still full of fire. I took this photo of him at Cine Gear where he received an award, and spoke for one of his causes: an end to dangerously long working hours on set.
